The Fellowship is pleased to present our discussion of weddings in comics, specifically the two coming out of the Big 2 this summer. Kitty and Colossus, Catwoman and Batman, and you know we're not going to get out of this without some historical ones as well. Plenty of opportunity for our usual silliness, of course. And as always, our picks of the week.
What we're up to this week:
Documentaries - Bombshell (Hedy Lamarr) & Now More Than Ever (Chicago - the band, that is); highly recommend both, and they're on Netflix
Jerry & The Joker (awesome memoir from Jerry Robinson, creator of the Joker), The Complete Cosmo the Merry Martian (from Archie Comics back in the day), The Red Hook (Dean Haspiel, interesting story premise)
Underdog Classics trade (cool stuff from the '70s, interesting color style)
No Liz this week :-(

The Fellowship is pleased to present our quarterly crowdfunding focus. We've got a bunch of awesome Kickstarter comics to share with you this time around. Go check them out (they're all linked below), and see what else you can find there too. Plus our normal abnormality. And as always, our picks of the week.
What we're up to this week:
Doctor Who streaming on Twitch - nostalgic, and cool sci-fi, but the stories are weaker than I hoped
Prelude to the Wedding one-shots - entertaining, especially the Ra's al Ghul/Damian one
Attended a festival for short films at the Texas Theatre - some good films, entertaining overall
Sgt Preston of the Yukon - TV show from the '50s; not a good show, but credit to the network for showing something that wasn't a "classic"
(And a bit of a tangent on old TV shows)
Check out our sponsor page! Head to the website and click on the banners for Things From Another World! (Click through the TFAW banner on our site and we get a cut. Thank you!)

[Note: the weird hum was still an issue this week. Still no idea what the problem is; Liz can't hear anything on her end, but it only happens when she's talking (well, mostly). Also, it seems that my mic was feeling a bit sensitive too, as it picked up some of my breathing. Again, sorry for what I can't edit out. -m]

The Fellowship is pleased to present our discussion on aging in comics. It's strange how some characters seem to age (Dick Grayson, for example) while others don't (Bruce Wayne, am I right?). How important is it? Does it matter at all? Opinions and silliness run free here, not surprisingly. And as always, our picks of the week.
What we're up to this week:
Fear & Loathing, The Black Monday Murders volume 2, started Mythic
Also watched Demon with the Atomic Brain (Christopher Mihm film)
Forgetting what we ordered from the Previews catalog…
The Wormworld Saga - nice little story
[Tangent about how one reads comics; we may have to revisit this one later :-)]
Screening of The Producers (1968) [And the obligatory Mel Brooks tangent - we're all huge fans, obviously]
Star Lord: Guardian of the Galaxy trade
Check out our sponsor page! Head to the website and click on the banners for Things From Another World! (Click through the TFAW banner on our site and we get a cut. Thank you!)
[Note: there was something a little wonky with Liz's Skype connection. She was getting an occasional background static that was quite overpowering at times. I cut out what I could, and we apologize for what's still there. -m]

The Fellowship is pleased to present our discussion of the "DC Implosion" on its 40th anniversary. One of DC's darkest hours, back in the 1970s the company tried to snatch market share back from Marvel, and it chose the wrong time to act, as we discuss. We talk about some fascinating implications, and make a snarky joke or two. And as always, our picks of the week.
What we're up to this week:
Trade pile - Norman, I Hate Fairyland, Postal (my pile is a bit dark)
Family time - most of them don't do comics, but there's a nephew who gets it
Found a comic sale and had a blast
Not much other than planning some future episodes :-)
(here's the link mentioned about the FF thing from the '60s)

If you want to read more on this, the Wikipedia page has some links you can check out, including the Jenette Khan column that was meant to intro the "Explosion." And the idea of Les owning Marvel is mind-blowing to say the least, right? ;-)
