The Fellowship is pleased to present our latest Casting Call episode. This time around we're casting an animated series based on the Groo the Wanderer comic series. Groo is a favorite of ours here at the Fellowship, and we haven't cast animation before. We talk about the iconic Groo cast of characters, a little bit about voice acting in general, and a bunch of stuff in between. Plus our usual tangents galore and our comics picks of the week.

The Fellowship is pleased to present our 7/11 episode, in which we discuss The Magnificent Seven and Ocean's Eleven, both 60 years old now. These are both important movies in their genres, being westerns and buddy movies respectively. We talk about the impact of each film, the iconic-ness of each, other movies that tried to do the same (maybe less successfully), the idea of celebrity then and now, and a bunch of stuff in between. Plus our usual tangents galore and our comics picks of the week.

The Fellowship regrets to announce that we do not have a new episode for you this week. 2020 has been a heck of a year, and it certainly caught up to us this week. We'll be back next week with more of our usual silly behavior. If you have a moment, though, check out our website and our weekly picks, and maybe grab a rerun episode to listen to. And if we don't say it enough, thank you for listening and hanging out with us 🙂

The Fellowship is pleased to present our discussion of the Hard-Traveling Heroes, the run of the Green Lantern/Green Arrow book from the early 1970s. This was the reboot of Green Arrow, making him an ex-millionaire and a champion of the downtrodden. We talk about the history of the title, the characters and their backstories, some of the hot-button issues this series brings, the impact of the series on other books (including trade paperbacks), and a bunch of stuff in between. Plus our usual tangents galore and our comics picks of the week.

We're getting set up on Discord - details coming soon...

We say "forty years ago" a few times regarding these books - clearly math is hard, because they're obviously fifty years old. Sorry about that 😉
And we're kind of all over the place with the date of publication for this book. Which we kind of did to ourselves by reading a reprint. Again, sorry.

Picks for the week of 7/8:
Folklords volume 1 trade (BOOM! Studios)
Sacred Six #1 (Dynamite)
Buffy The Vampire Slayer: Willow #1 (BOOM! Studios)
Adventureman #2 (Image)
Harley Quinn: Breaking Glass graphic novel (DC Ink)
Sonata volumes 1 & 2 (Image)
Night Owl Society volume 1 (IDW)
The Spirit: An 80th Anniversary Celebration collection (Clover Press)

Shoutouts:
Condolences to the family and friends of actor Sir Ian Holm, director Joel Schumacher, and comics inker Joe Sinnott, who passed this week
