The Fellowship is pleased to present our discussion of The Matrix on the 20th anniversary of its US release. It's one of our favorite movies (most of us, anyway), and it broke a lot of ground for effects work. We get deep into the history and impact of the film, with some tangents along the way, and a whole lot of other stuff. Plus our standard strange behavior, as well as our picks of the week.
What we're up to this week:
Amanda Conner art book continued, and the latest Zack Snyder drama (major soapbox tangent which guarantees the explicit tag for this week 🙂), also, The Act on Hulu is worth checking out, as well as Paradise Lost on HBO
More documentaries - The Case Against Adnan Syed (HBO); also the trailer for Yesterday
Back to the trade pile - JSA: The Golden Age and JLA Year One; one more documentary - Wilder is coming soon
And oh yeah, Supernatural is ending, so Liz needed a moment
The Matrix was a groundbreaking film to say the least. Oh, and "the least" is what we plan to say about the sequels.
Also, Bill & Ted 3? Could be interesting...
Picks for the week of 4/3:
Bronze Age Boogie #1 (Ahoy Comics)
Bettie Page #3 (Dynamite)
Hellchild: Blood Money #1 (Zenescope)
Xena: Warrior Princess #1 (Dynamite)
Section Zero #1 (Image)
Danger Girl: Dangerous Visions 3-D #1 (IDW)
Jim Henson's The Storytellers: Sirens #1 (BOOM! Studios)
Amber Blake #1 (IDW)
Honorable Mention: Bettie Page: The Dynamite Covers #1 (Dynamite)
Condolences to the family, friends and fans of filmmaker Larry Cohen, who passed away this week
