The Fellowship is pleased to present our celebration of the 35th anniversary of the film A Christmas Story. This movie has become a TV staple in the last 15 years, and its popularity has risen quickly over that time. And it's getting to be "that time of year" too, right? We've got some opinions and some stories, and we add our normal abnormality, as well as our picks of the week.

What we're up to this week:
Big Bag o' Nothing - busy week, still reading Hellboy (omnibuses are big)
Avoiding Christmas music and getting ready for Black Friday sales [this may be more of a tangent than a report, I'm not sure šŸ™‚]
Local comics convention - the small ones are a lot of fun [CA wildfire tangent]
Comics - a new Epic Collection (X-Men) which includes a story by Jerry Siegel

Check out our sponsor page! Head to the website and click on the banners for Things From Another World! (Click through the TFAW banner on our site and we get a cut. Thank you!)

A Christmas Story is an amazing story of how the blossoming home video market and careful (or lucky) cable TV placement can turn a movie into an "instant" classic. It helps that it's a very funny movie, of course šŸ™‚

Picks for the week of 11/28:
Infinity Wars: Arachknight #2 (Marvel)
Punchline #2 (Antarctic Press)
Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Soul of the Dragon GN (BOOM! Studios)

Marvel Action: Spider-Man #1 (IDW)
Rock & Roll Biographies: Tool (Acme Comics)

The Fellowship is saddened to present our tribute to the life and career of Stan Lee, who left us this week. Comics would simply not be what they are without him, and he will be deeply missed by the fans and the industry. We all have our own take on The Man, and we add our usual odd behavior (maybe a little less than normal), as well as our picks of the week.

What we're up to this week:

Hellboy omnibuses (very cool), The Story Behind book (yay Emily šŸ™‚) [podcast tangent]
Bill the Boy Wonder (recent bio comic on Bill Finger), Die Kitty Die trade
Old Doc Savage novels

The Fellowship is pleased to present our review and discussion of the Kree-Skrull War. We read Avengers issues 89-97, first published in 1971-72, which may have some impact on the upcoming Captain Marvel movie. And we're breaking it down here for you, dear listeners. We have opinions (shocking, right?), and we add our usual mayhem, as well as our picks of the week.

What we're up to this week:
Comics - finished Shadows On The Grave, started Corpus (a Kickstarter collection of medical stories), read some of the Halloween Comic Fest books (all awesome)
More comics - Die Die Die, Stranger Things (yep, it's a comic), The Lollipop Kids, Batman The Maxx
Movies - MST3K tour (lots of fun), this month's AGFA film The Garbage Pail Kids (delightfully horrible)
Golden Age Wonder Woman collection, Last Year: The Nightmare beta streaming on Twitch

Check out our sponsor page! Head to the website and click on the banners for Things From Another World! (Click through the TFAW banner on our site and we get a cut. Thank you!)

It will be interesting to see how much (if any) of this classic story gets used in the new movie. It's essentially all backstory for the "modern" Captain, so we'll see šŸ™‚
Oh, and the promised link (at least to the first issue, 89)

Plastic Man #6 (DC)

The Fellowship is pleased to present another Casting Call episode. This time we got creative, casting a New Gods series in 1995 (not real, obviously). We get a kick out of doing these; it lets us mess around with the property as well as surprise each other. Some fun and interesting casting choices, and we add our usual weird ideas, as well as our picks of the week.

What we're up to this week:
Comics - Regression vol 1, Shadows On The Grave
More of the 31 days of horror, more of the "ziplock" bags of comics (Domino, Die Die Die, Batman Sins of the Father)

More Halloween Comic Fest (hope you all went and enjoyed), Twitch.tv channel PDCinema
[Note: I looked it up, and all they took from the 1955 version of The Fast and The Furious was the title šŸ˜‰ -m]

Watching the topic movie, continuing the book I'm reading, and kind of a short week (we recorded late last week)

The Fellowship is pleased to present the next movie on our funny horror movie list, Young Frankenstein (1974). The Fellowship is pleased to present the next movie on our funny horror movie list, Student Bodies (1981). This is a movie with strong Texas roots, and though it didnā€™t do a ton of box office, it still has a pretty good lock on spoofing the slasher flick. We all have opinions and trivia, and we add our usual weirdness, as well as our picks of the week.

What we're up to this week:

Finally finished Secret Wars and can move on to other comics

31 Days of October - watching something Halloween related every day
