The Fellowship is pleased to present another Casting Call - this time for the Tim Burton Batman "franchise." We're casting 1990-ish stars for some potential Batman allies and villains. We have a lot of fun with these, and sometimes we get a little creative with it here. Plus our usual odd behavior, of course. And as always, our picks of the week.

What we're up to this week:

Catching up on Knights of the Dinner Table, and watched Weresquito: Nazi Hunter

Batman: White Knight - two thumbs up

Bought a whole bunch of "dollar bin" comics, haven't gotten through them all yet

Marvel Epic Collection: Spider-Man volume 3 - good read, fantastic Romita Sr. art

Check out our sponsor page! Head to the website and click on the banners for Things From Another World! (Click through the TFAW banner on our site and we get a cut. Thank you!)

The characters we cast for our sequel(s) to the 1989 Batman movie:

Green Arrow

Huntress

Question

Riddler

Scarecrow

Poison Ivy

Ra's al Ghul

Mister Freeze

The Fellowship is pleased to present our discussion of comics properties we'd like to see in the theaters or on the small screen. There are a ton of movies and shows out there now, but these are (some of) the ones we'd make if we were talented. Our normal levels of silliness apply. And as always, our picks of the week.

What we're up to this week:

Comics pile - FCBD stuff was pretty dang good this year, Brothers Dracul is great fun as well, and Knights of the Dinner Table :-)

Rockwall Comic Fest 2018 - a very well organized event, and well attended

Infinity War - the short, non-spoilery version: thumbs up

Check out our sponsor page! Head to the website and click on the banners for Things From Another World! (Click through the TFAW banner on our site and we get a cut. Thank you!)

Our list of comics we'd like to see on either the big or small screen:

No way, dudes, you gotta listen to the show for that ;-)

And just for jollies, here's a link to Les' Star Rovers thing

The Fellowship is pleased to present our discussion of comics titles that we would recommend to new or lapsed readers. The idea here is not to just list our favorite titles - we're trying to find titles that will draw in folks who don't normally go for comics. We even talk a bit about how that works, and we get a little off track at one point (shocking, right?). And as always, our picks of the week.

What we're up to this week:

The films of Christopher Mihm (at least some of them) are now available on Amazon Prime Video - very entertaining and weird

Free Comic Book Day was a blast; also praise for the Hit-Girl series

Shock Rockets - cool series from a few years back

More FCBD love, in terms of the free comics themselves; also a book called Funny Face!: An Amusing History of Potato Heads, Block Heads, and Magic Whiskers

And the "get off my lawn" tangent of the week :-)

Check out our sponsor page! Head to the website and click on the banners for Things From Another World! (Click through the TFAW banner on our site and we get a cut. Thank you!)

We hope you find some comics here in our list that can help people get into the wonderful world of comics :-)

Note: Thom Zahler's new series is called Warning Label, and here's the Kickstarter link, which runs until June 11

Picks for the week of 5/16:

New Challengers #1 (DC)

The Three Stooges Slaptastic Special (American Mythology)

Harley Loves Joker #2 (DC)

Ether: The Copper Golems #1 (Dark Horse)

X-Men Wedding Special #1 (Marvel)

All The Answers (Gallery 13)

A Walk Through Hell #1 (Aftershock)

Evolution vol 1 trade (Image)

Honorable Mention: The Ballad of Halo Jones (2000AD)

Shoutouts:

Happy Mother's Day :-)

The Fellowship is pleased to present our discussion of 10 years of Marvel movies. The Infinity War is now upon us, and we're taking a look back at how we got here. A bunch of past, a little bit of present, and a smidgen of possible future. Plus some compare and contrast with that other "cinematic universe." And as always, our picks of the week.

What we're up to this week:

Aliens: Dust to Dust #1 and Jeepers Creepers #1 - new books last week that were awesome

Les' Big Bag o' NothingĀ® - out of pocket, not much time for fun stuff

Saw a certain new movie - no spoilers, because spoilers SUCK!

Also Rick & Morty comics - quick, easy read, very entertaining

Eric Clapton: A Life in 12 Bars and Wait For Your Laugh - two cool documentaries to check out

Check out our sponsor page! Head to the website and click on the banners for Things From Another World! (Click through the TFAW banner on our site and we get a cut. Thank you!)

Kudos to the folks at Marvel Studios for pulling off a successful "long con" of a story :-)
