The Fellowship is pleased to present our celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Planet of the Apes movie franchise. It's been a successful series of movies more than once, and also twice made into TV shows (animated and live action). And it's loaded with themes that are as relevant today as they were 50 years ago. And as always, our picks of the week.

What we're up to this week:

The Jetsons - very dramatic and well written; Strangers in Paradise - an intriguing start, to say the least

Ready for the return of The Walking Dead; also quitting smoking (yay Liz!) [Note: we get a bit personal here in support of Liz. Quitting smoking is hard, and we want her to succeed. -m]

Milk Wars (1-3) - bizarre but fun

Moon Knight Epic Collection - there's an awesome movie or Netflix series in there

Check out our sponsor page! Head to the website and click on the banners for Things From Another World! (Click through the TFAW banner on our site and we get a cut. Thank you!)

Congrats to all involved in making a sci-fi story work for 50 years. It's quite an accomplishment.

Picks for the week of 2/28:

Peek-A-Boo #1 (Zenescope)

Mera, Queen of Atlantis #1 (DC)

Hungry Ghosts #2 (Dark Horse/Berger Books)

Abbott #2 (BOOM! Studios)

Jim Henson's Labyrinth: Coronation #1 (BOOM! Studios/Archaia)

Victor Lavalle's Destroyer TP (BOOM! Studios)

The Fellowship is pleased to present our conversation with Madeleine Holly-Rosing, creator of the Boston Metaphysical Society comic series. The latest chapter of the story, The Scourge of the Mechanical Men, is available now on Kickstarter. We chat with her about that book, about the Society in general, and about some of her other projects. And as always, our picks of the week.

What we're up to this week:

The Winter Olympics - it's fun watching kids get into it for the first time

Dallas Comic Show last weekend - a bit of (awesome) name-dropping

Liz is turning young minds to the ways of comics one at a time ;-)

Still trying to dig out old RPG stuff, and stumbled across old notes from the webcast (shows we did years ago, and a list of old show topics)

Check out our sponsor page! Head to the website and click on the banners for Things From Another World! (Click through the TFAW banner on our site and we get a cut. Thank you!)

Again, check out Boston Metaphysical Society: The Scourge of the Mechanical Men at the link, and get your copy reserved soon

Also check out her book Kickstarter For The Independent Creator, available on Amazon now

And check out her website and say hi to her on Twitter @MHollyRosing

And while we're at it, Vietnamese steampunk

[Note: the Kasai campaign did end on Friday, before this show dropped. But we talked about it last week in episode 100, so hopefully you got in on it then. And it did fund, so yay :-) -m]

We talked this week about the podcast, about the process we use for the show, stuff we enjoy about what we're doing, and general appreciation to you, dear listeners, for checking out the show and liking at least some of the same stuff we like. And as always, our picks of the week.

*I have no idea if that's a real word or not. But it seems to fit.

What we're up to this week:

Liz's Big Bag o' NothingĀ® - working a lot, not much time to read

James Ellroy's The Black Dahlia graphic novel (Archaia) - excellent read

The Fellowship is pleased to present our discussion of some of our favorite board games. We've got some old games, some new games, and some not-particularly-board games that we've enjoyed past and present. And as always, our picks of the week.

What we're up to this week:

100 Years of Horror series - almost done; Monsters From The Vault - a book along the same vein, very interesting reviews of old horror flicks

Nemo: The Roses of Berlin, Codename: Knockout, The Adventures of Apocalypse Al, Thor: Ragnarok prelude - good stuff (though the Thor was a little disappointing)

X-Men: Children of the Atom Epic Collection - including a notable editing slip, probably from the original run

Check out our sponsor page! Head to the website and click on the banners for Things From Another World! (Click through the TFAW banner on our site and we get a cut. Thank you!)

Big thanks to Danny for the topic suggestion :-)

[Note: Les is right; the game preceded the first Dark Tower book by a year. Also, here's the YouTube copy of the TV spot for it. -m]
