The Fellowship is pleased to present a new Casting Call episode - this time for a new streaming series for the Secret Society of Supervillains. This group has an interesting array of bad guys, to say the least, and some good guys who you might not normally think about. So we give ourselves some rope and see what happens 🙂. Plus our usual tangents galore and our comics picks of the week.

Announcements:
Come hang out with us! We have monthly meetups on 2nd Saturdays in Garland, TX; details on Facebook & Twitter & the Events tab on our website
We're super excited to announce our partnership with ComicBooks For Kids. Details on the website (and you should be listening to hear more, too 🙂)

What we're up to this week:
Beware! The Blob - a very disconnected film, not horror but not comedy either; not recommended
Christmas movie overload, Loud Krazy Love (documentary on Korn from Showtime), My Chemical Romance reunion (go find the bootleg on YouTube), an Oscar Wilde tangent (not Liz's fault), an entitlement tangent (totally Liz's fault)
Very quiet week, no arrests
Saw Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker (you gotta listen to hear the review), Mandalorian tangent, spoiler tangent, Snyder cut tangent

Check out our sponsor page! Head to the website and click on the banners for Things From Another World! (Click through the TFAW banner on our site and we get a cut. Thank you!)

Okay, the Dorian Gray thing: Liz was right about The Canterville Ghost, but I suspect the more likely candidate for being read in Texas schools would be The Importance of Being Earnest 🙂

Picks for the week of 1/1:
Diana: Princess of the Amazons graphic novel (DC)
James Bond: Live and Let Die graphic novel (Dynamite)
Coaraptor one-shot (Antarctic Press)
Pink Lemonade Holiday Grab Bag (It's Alive)
Kringle one-shot (Source Point)
Killadelphia #2 (Image)
Star Wars #1 (Marvel)
The Mighty Elvis: A Graphic Biography graphic novel (IDW)
Honorable Mention: Wonder Woman: Warbringer graphic novel (DC)

Shoutouts:
No new episode next week
And Happy New Year! 🙂

The Fellowship is pleased to present something a little different for the holidays - we're playing a game called Weird Things Humans Search For. It's published by Big Potato Studios, who bills it as a party game (not really aimed at kids). The rules are pretty simple, and our society is just weird enough to make it interesting. Plus our usual tangents galore and our comics picks of the week.

What we're up to this week:
ReMastered: The Two Killings of Sam Cooke - very good documentary
Christmas Crafting Mode(TM), angel heads, grocery delivery, aqua gardens, bad movie trailers, Frozen 2
The Mandalorian, Beware! The Blob at AGFA (what a coincidence 🙂)
MST3K on Twitch, not much else going on

Just so you know, I did edit the hell out of the first round (for your sake, people 😉). But after that we really got the hang of it, so I didn't have to cut out as much.
And here's the link to the game's website in case you'd like to check it out for yourself

Picks for the week of 12/25:
Faithless trade (BOOM! Studios)
The Kill Lock #1 (IDW)
Bettie Page: Unbound #8 (Dynamite)
Dr. Strange: Surgeon Supreme #1 (Marvel)
Honorable Mention: The House of Secrets: The Bronze Age Omnibus volume 2 (DC)

Shoutouts:
Merry Christmas to all who celebrate it 🙂
And condolences to the family and friends of actor Danny Aiello 😞

The Fellowship is pleased to present our discussion of the Disney movie The Black Hole for the 40th anniversary of its release. Thanks to some coincidental (?) timing, there were a lot of films coming out in this time frame with at least some Star Wars influence. We talk about this film and some others like it, the cast, the story, and a ton of other fun stuff. Plus tangents galore and our comics picks of the week.

What we're up to this week:
Birthday party, reminiscing about Pantera, and it devolves a bit from there 😉
Netflix Remastered - music documentaries
Elks Lodge wrestling night - an interesting experience
Big Bag o' Nothing - not much fun this week

Check out our sponsor page! Head to the website and click on the banners for Things From Another World! (Click through the TFAW banner on our site and we get a cut. Thank you!)

We're finding it fascinating to see some of the movies that were heavily influenced (in one way or another) by the Star Wars phenomenon. I promise you, though, we're not going fishing for the really bad ones. No plans for that on the horizon right now, anyway 😉

Picks for the week of 12/18:
The Visitor #1 (Valiant) [I double checked, and it does have The in the title. It's just really really tiny on the cover. -m]
Pretty Violent #5 (Image)
Project X-mas one-shot (Image)
"I Can Sell You A Body" #1 (IDW)
Star Trek: The Motion Picture Facsimile Edition (IDW)
Wellington #1 (IDW)
Klaus and the Life and Times of Joe Christmas one-shot (BOOM! Studios)
Tales From Harrow County: Death's Choir #1 (Dark Horse)
Honorable Mention: Snoopy: A Beagle of Mars graphic novel (BOOM! Studios)

Shoutouts:
Condolences on the passing of Rene Auberjonois, Caroll Spinney, and Dorothy (D. C.) Fontana this week (it was a rough week for a lot of fans)
Pop Goes The Culture podcast network - go check them out! 🙂

The Fellowship is pleased to present our discussion of Star Trek on the 40th anniversary of the release of Star Trek: The Motion Picture. We're all Trekkies to some degree (despite what it may sound like at times), and this movie came out in an interesting time for sci-fi. We talk about a lot of the films, the cast, the story, the effects (including makeup), and a ton of other fun stuff. Plus tangents galore and our comics picks of the week.

Here's the promised link for the Phase II video.
Also, in our chat during the break we talked about how the Enterprise herself is a main character in the show. Maybe someday I'll scrounge it out and drop it as a bonus thing. But the group thought it was worth mentioning here at least 🙂

The Fellowship is pleased to present our discussion of the state of Star Wars here at the end of the Skywalker saga. Fair warning - we get seriously ranty this week. Even for us. We talk about all of the films, the toys, the business end of it, and a ton of other fun stuff. Plus tangents galore and our comics picks of the week.

What we're up to this week:
Liz just hit the two-year mark on the show - yay!
Still geeking out on Disney+, Gwenpool spoilers (and it gets a little gory)
Did stuff but didn't start or finish much, also planning for Women in Horror Month (February, stay tuned)
MST3K channel streaming in various places like Twitch and Pluto (a bit of a Bob Ross tangent)
Local con - good fun, and got some CB4K donations

If it seems like there's a jump when we're talking about Doctor Sleep, that's because we had a technical glitch. If it's doesn't seem like a jump, then there wasn't 😉
