The Fellowship is pleased to present our discussion of M*A*S*H on (or near) the 45th anniversary of the TV series premiere. We think it's noteworthy because (A) it was a very successful TV series, and (B) it was a sitcom about war, fer cryin' out loud. We talk about its origins (the book and the movie) and about how great (and weird and political) it was. And as always, our picks of the week.

What we're up to this week:

Mikey's Big Bag o' NothingĀ® - life bit me in the ass pretty hard this week

Alamo Drafthouse's Video Vortex this week - Crocodile Fury (a real woofer of a flick if descriptions are accurate)

Twitch watch - Friday the 13th game releasing this week, and it lives up to the hype

Check out our sponsor page! Head to the website and click on the banners for Things From Another World and Make Mine Indie! (Click through the TFAW banner on our site and we get a cut. And check out tons of great indie comics in the MMIndie catalog. And thank you!)

Picks for the week of 5/31:

Moon Knight #14 (Marvel)

D4VEocracy #4 (IDW)

Eagle: Resurgent #2 (American Mythology)

The Red Ten #9 (ComixTribe)

Black Road #10 (Image)

Heroines #1 (Space Goat Publishing)

Honorable Mention: Starslayer: The Log of the Jolly Roger trade (Dark Horse)

Honorable Mention: The Last Contract trade (Boom!)

Honorable Mention: Lennon: The New York Years (IDW)

Shoutouts:

Condolences to the families and friends of Chris Cornell, Sir Roger Moore, and Rich Buckler. They will all be greatly missed.

Manny the Martyr - thanks for letting us use your music

#PodernFamily - an awesome group of indie podcasters supporting each other

The Fellowship is pleased to present our discussion of Star Wars on (or near) the 40th anniversary of the first movie (A New Hope). We reminisce about our first experiences with the franchise, talk about its various influences on geek and popular culture, and speculate a bit about its future. And as always, our picks of the week.

What we're up to this week:

Twitch - I've been lurking there to learn more about DDO (Dungeons & Dragons Online, where I'm also kind of a lurker - common theme)

More Twitch - Mister Rogers' Neighborhood streaming to raise funds for PBS

Even more Twitch - new Dead By Daylight update/release with Friday the 13th expansion coming soon

Twin Peaks is returning - an excuse to marathon the old episodes before the new ones start

Check out our sponsor page! Head to the website and click on the banners for Things From Another World and Make Mine Indie! (Click through the TFAW banner on our site and we get a cut. And check out tons of great indie comics in the MMIndie catalog. And thank you!)

[Note: the animated Star Trek series was indeed 1973.]

[Note: the actor Thomas mentions was Julian Glover, not John. He was also a member of the Royal Shakespearean Company, if I'm not mistaken.]

The Fellowship is pleased to present our discussion of the importance of coloring and lettering in the comics process. It started from a quote from a comics legend, and we talk about how wrong the guy is (without being disrespectful, of course). And as always, our picks of the week.

What we're up to this week:

Warlock 5 - cool new Kickstarter comic from Cullen Bunn

The Mads at the Alamo Drafthouse (they're the scientist guys from MST3K)

Amazing Heroes Action Figures Wave 2 - 4.5" action figures of heroes like Nexus, Jon Sable, Stray and others (another Kickstarter)

Check out our sponsor page! Head to the website and click on the banners for Things From Another World and Make Mine Indie! (Click through the TFAW banner on our site and we get a cut. And check out tons of great indie comics in the MMIndie catalog. And thank you!)

We felt it best to not name names in this discussion, but the quote can likely be found on the 'net if you're so inclined.
